A friend recently filled me in on life back-to-work after recently having a baby. Her words captured *years* of experience for me. I felt like these could have been penned by “Every Working Mom.” So I’m passing them along to resonate with your heart or to give you insight into many women’s lives all around you.
We’re doing the best we possibly can be doing. The baby is still unbelievably perfect, sleeping through the night, breastfeeding like a champ, and adjusting so well to having a nanny. I’m discouraged by fluctuations in my milk supply, having to travel for work more than I thought I would, and not feeling successful either at work or at home.My traveling is hard on all of us–my husband has to drop everything, I can’t participate in work events like I want to, and don’t even get me started on the number of hours that I sit on toilets in dirty bathrooms trying not to be embarrassed by the whirr of the breast pump. But somehow, God loves us and wants us to thrive. Two days ago, our nanny asked for two more cloth diapers, and I was thinking, “now when the heck am I going to find the time to buy two more cloth diapers?” And guess what showed up in a package at my work. TWO CLOTH DIAPERS. Apparently God even cares about our baby’s poop.
