What can you/do you do with the person who is dissatisfied with a situation but refuses to do anything about it?

You can love and counsel and support, and you can offer opportunities to do something, but you can’t want it more than they do. There’s going to be a lot of “stuck” people to whom you’ll minister. After all, Jesus came for them (to seek and save the lost). I’m surprised how simply consistently loving these people, over time, helps them out of their stuckness and into freedom. Stay with it.

But there might be a time in that process when you have to say “I don’t have anything else to offer you. You’re perpetually dissatisfied but persistently committed to doing nothing about it.” Or to let them know that they don’t have a right to complain if they’re not going to do anything about it. Always say hard things in love, but sometimes hard things need to be said.
