Psalm 56:8
“You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.”

We are very precious to Jesus in our moments of pain and heartache. He carefully records all of our sorrow and does not let those times pass us idly by. 2 years and 4 months ago one of my best friends died suddenly for no reason while in law school (heart defect apparently). The thing I most remember about God during that time was that He wouldn’t take away my pain…He wouldn’t say or do anything to ‘make it all better’. BUT, He was oh so eager to enter into the midst of my pain, to sit there with me. He wanted to be there with me sharing my pain and also sharing His goodness.

Jesus went through great pain on my behalf once – He did it on a cross to prove His love. The love of God does not always cover up and remove pain, but it is much deeper and fuller, and it ALWAYS outlasts it. God’s love never fails.
