I read the story of Moses and the burning bush to the kids the other day. I was struck by the simple description of the bush – it hit me in a fresh way: “The bush was burning but it didn’t burn up.”

That’s how I want to be. I want to be burning for Christ – totally on fire with His consuming fire (Heb. 12:29), with my face radiating the glory of God just as Moses’ did. Yet, I often feel like I’m being burnt up or burnt out. Doing, doing, doing … only to realize I’m caught in a lot of “do do.”

Who will deliver me from this? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord. (Rom. 7:24-25). And I will pursue Him until I am free. For it’s for freedom that He set us free. (Gal 5:1)
