I read an article this morning about a teen in Iceland who reportedly dialed an unpublished number for the White House’s the Secret Service Uniform Division, which handles security for the president. He identified himself as the President of Iceland, asked to speak to President Bush, got transferred up the chain, and long story short, got hauled off by local police for intensive questioning.

Aside from being an amusing distraction to Monday morning, I didn’t think much of the article. Until I saw this line at the end: Calls to the Secret Service press office were not returned.

Isn’t that funny?! This kid can talk to the Secret Service Uniform Division, other WH officials, and even the President’s secretary herself, but the press can’t even get in touch with someone at the press office? I totally busted out laughing —
