A former skydive club president told me that when people skydive for the first time, their bodies react in a way that prepares them for imminent death — their systems flood with endorphins, adrenaline, morphine and other chemicals to make the imminent death less painful. As a result, after they land, they have a morphine-induced-like grin plastered across their faces.
That describes pretty well how I’m feeling right now. It’s like my mind is preparing for imminent *splat*. I’m walking around with a morphine-induced-like grin on my face. I don’t really know how I’m going to make it, but I know that I will.
