Recently, the president of our church, Jack Hayford, shared the following word from the Lord:

The spiritual strongholds that you have faced are beginning to topple. The Lord has set Himself to destroy strongholds across the nation and around the world. This is your promise to possess according to His Word!
I am setting forward to topple strongholds everywhere throughout this Church. Rise and receive what I am ready to set in motion where you minister! Stand and embrace the victory I am demonstrating against the darkness now!
This is your hour of breakthrough: it will begin as you believe and will proceed as you move forward in faith! To some, it will seem to fall in slow motion; at times you wonder if your obstacle has truly begun to fall. But hear My Word from the Scriptures and stand upon it:
The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Cor. 10:4-5
I found this prophetic word to be extremely encouraging. Just think of the strongholds — the “gi-normous” obstacles I face that the Lord is toppling! Just think of the obstacles the people in our fellowship face — people who I love dearly — that the Lord is toppling! We will soon be free! We will soon be liberated!
The first step to having a promise from God fulfilled is to believe it and claim it — or, as the words above say, to believe and move forward in it. Nearly every day during my prayer time, I say this promise back to God, claim it as my own, and believe it. Just as the saints of old did (I think of Nehemiah), I repeat God’s promises back to Him. In that way, I find that I build my faith and remain ever mindful of what it is He’s doing.
