Last Sunday was incredible — one of the best Sundays we’ve had, and a real pivotal moment of taking our fellowship deeper and deeper. We had been distracted by, for lack of a better word, “typical church.” And we (mostly me) had started making decisions that would turn our fellowship into that, even though that’s not the purpose or intent God has given us for our church. It was inadvertent, but the fact is that “typcial church” is the only thing any of us knows. So it’s easy to default into making decisions that lead in that direction. We had a Servant Team meeting in which we found creative, new ways to accomplish our vision and purpose without falling into typical church, and we implemented those ideas and saw incredible results in just one day. It really was amazing.
